There’s no such thing as “one” type of entrepreneur.

There are some who are more creative, others logistical. We see some entrepreneurs purpose entirely new ways of thinking, or revitalize current ones in unimaginable ways. We even see highly successful entrepreneurs rise from the most burnt of ashes and come from situations we only have sympathy for.

There are SO many avenues we can take when we embark on the path towards entrepreneurship- everyone can find one that calls to them! The entrepreneurial gene doesn’t discriminate and we sure as HELL shouldn’t believe it has the power to do so.

Take me, for example! I recently got candid AF about my journey with sobriety, especially navigating my recovery. And as someone who once believed there was only one “kind” of person who could be more likely consumed by their addiction, clearly… I was proven wrong.

As we all heard, I was the vivacious party girl with a thing for having fun. My struggle with addiction prohibited me from seeing that I was just as much in the throes of it as others I saw on the streets of New York City. It wasn’t until my encounters with rehab that I learned the core conflicts of ALL our struggles, soon realizing there are personas humans have the potential to embody regardless of their background.

The entrepreneur “prototype” influences our ability to visualize ourselves as one. While there are core qualities many entrepreneurs similarly possess, there’s certainly room for us to fill with the breadth of our individuality.

So my real question here is: What’s to say we can’t take on the role with such a unique flair, we defy the standard of what it means to be a traditional business owner?

We are living in an age where resources have reached a NEW level. With the sudden influx of remote work, it’s much easier (than it once was) for many women to finally create the work/life balance they’ve been yearning for. Being a mom myself, I constantly strive to cultivate an aligned sense of balance in my life; entrepreneurship has given me the space to grow into that desire.

Not only are we being given these insightful opportunities to nurture our mind, we now are beginning to own our visibility (and rightfully freaking so!). Us women have the innate power to inspire the world with grace, power, and humility that’s nearly indescribable; we owe ourselves the responsibility of sustaining those qualities through our empowerment AND education.

Those are two of the many pillars that I believe entrepreneurship stands on. And what’s even cooler is that we can build our OWN pillars that support our entrepreneurial efforts.

Flexibility, authenticity, craftsmanship, maternal instinct, creativity, empathy… we can choose what feels most abundantly aligned with ourselves!

NOW is the time for us to secure our place in the world as powerful leaders + thinkers by redefining what it means to be an entrepreneur. There are so many roles us women take on daily, like mothers and wives and sisters and friends. We can use those experiences to craft an inspirational, meaningful kind of business that serve US and the world on every level.

It’s an exciting time for women to take on the world of entrepreneurship.

Not only can we change the world, but we can enliven it.
