Being new to the coaching industry is freaking thrilling yet overwhelming all at once.
You’re about to embark on a whirlwind experience that’s going to expedite EVERY area of your life, and you don’t know what’s in store! Pretty freaking crazy right?
Here’s some little lessons I learned on my own journey that I believe will help guide you:
- Trust the process: When you’re starting out, it’s easy to get worked up when results immediately don’t show. However, that’s not to say you’re destined to be unsuccessful- if anything, this slow burn is going to serve as the momentous journey that will teach you everything you need to be truly, authentically aligned + abundant in your work.
- Don’t limit yourself to one offer idea: While you may be clear on what you want to offer, don’t restrict yourself. Be open to new angles and perspectives- they may be that extra step to take your idea to the next level. You’ll learn that as you consistently put your work out there and receive feedback (which can be a source of guidance as well).
- Understand that not everyone is looking for a Coach: Unfortunately, you’re going to encounter people who aren’t necessarily coachable. That’s probably because they don’t need (or want) the resources you offer- and that’s okay! Don’t stress and focus on the people that don’t align with you… there are plenty of people who will!
- Only work with people who respect your boundaries: Even though YOU are the one with the incredible offers and opportunities, that doesn’t eradicate you from deserving basic respect. Those who want to misuse or take advantage of your boundaries or approaches to maintaining a healthy work/life balance are probably not the people for you.
- Entrepreneurs are not the same as coaches- but learn to be both: Coaches guide, entrepreneurs create. By combining both of these influential roles, you’ll ascend to new standards of flexible, creative, and innovative ways of operating. Don’t be afraid to lean into your curiosity, reach out to entrepreneurs + coaches, and gain insight into the ins and outs of business!
- Welcome all kinds of feedback: You want to keep getting better, right? You want to PIONEER your field, correct? That means being open to growth, and the best way to evolve is by listening to those who encounter your work the most. Clients, friends, and loved ones would be happy to provide feedback, you just have to ask!
- Don’t force things that don’t fit with your vision: I know that you want to tackle it all (believe me, I’ve been there) but that’s not going to be effective. If anything, you shouldn’t overwhelm yourself in fear that you’re missing something. Don’t let scarcity overrule your decisions + desires for your work- let your VISION be the boundary that guides you to what really will make your coaching thrive + shine!
- Sell AND serve- with confidence in yourself: Don’t just offer a product or service, offer an opportunity for a desirable result. Be the change you wanna see in the world. Provide support and resources to those who are unsure of how they receive the clarity + authentic alignment YOU yourself are cultivating.
I trust that you, your mission, and everything you have to offer will BLOW this world away- but be patient. Be kind to yourself. And be willing to learn. 💗
