As I’m navigating the transition of pregnancy with my second baby, Carli and I decided to share vulnerable pieces of our postpartum journeys on our Related podcast and how it altered our thoughts, feelings, even day-to-day actions!

Fun Fact: I was NOT planning for Baby #2. I was practicing for the practice rounds, you know? LOL, but anyways…

I was very happy with where I was physically AND mentally, feeling good but most importantly feeling MYSELF again!!! If you know, you know… there’s no freaking cooler feeling than watching your body shift + adapt to not only create life but BIRTH IT.

It took damn near a whole YEAR to feel aligned with myself in life, and I was proud of how far I’d come. So when my hubby and I began the convo of trying to get pregnant again, it was a little daunting! Not because I was unhappy or apprehensive, but because there were going to be CHANGES.

In the middle of the CRAZY snowstorm this past January, I just felt like I needed a test  so I threw one in my Instacart order and, well… good thing I grabbed one because it was POSITIVE! I remember Julian staring up at me, big blues all round and glistening, clapping his little hands at my exclamation of just WTF!!!!!! THIS IS HAPPENING AGAIN!!!!

I experienced lots of questions in my mind regarding the transitions I’d face with two kids under two years. Legit, my FIRST thought after my positive pregnancy test was:

“what’s JULIAN gonna think? Is he gonna be okay, am I gonna have the same relationship?”

And our lovely mother said to us, you think you aren’t going to have enough love or life to give after the first baby but once you have another you just experience a MASSIVE expansion of divine love, care, selflessness, all the magical sensations of being a parent. And that’s when I knew I could freaking DO THIS.

Truly, I believed the Universe knew that this was the time for me. I was in such a HIGH VIBE, undeniably amazing mindset all of January that it wanted to reward me with an opportunity just as energetically abundant + amazing.

Have you ever felt that before? Just feeling so good with the way things are going and then something MOMENTOUS pops up unexpectedly? The same thing happened when I found out I was having Julian, crazy how the Universe works WITH and FOR you!

Carli + I both experienced setbacks in our journeys to “bounce back” after the babies. I think it’s easy to compare to who we once were when in reality, we are sure as hell NOT the same gals anymore! Becoming mothers has not only changed how we perceive the world, but how we step into it authentically + MEANINGFULLY!!

As people capable of bringing LIFE into earth, it’s absolutely important to not only nurture the relationship with our partners, family, loved ones, and other children… but with ourselves! Pregnancy and childbirth are no walks in the damn park, and it’s CRUCIAL we treat ourselves with the gentle love + respect we deserve.

It’s really integral to not only accept who you’ve become, but appreciate them! While you’ve undergone such MIND-BLOWING physical transformations, it’s so eye-opening to recognize the emotional + mental wisdom whilst navigating the art of family.

So seriously, why should we feel pressured to feel a loss when we grow as human beings? The answer: we SHOULDN’T.

For all my badass birthing babes out there: you spent nine months carrying a little bundle of life, so take your sweet time nurturing yourself in any way you want!
