The Internet has been WILDINGGG out since Kim K dropped her not-so-mindful piece of advice to women in business. And respectfully, it got me thinking quite A LOT.
Last week my sis Carli + I addressed this BOLD AF statement on the Related podcast! Not only did we take a deep dive into why we disagree with Kim, but gave a heaping dose of our own insight into the REAL key to growth in your career.
I think it’s SUPER important to recognize the people that DO get their asses up and work, invest more sweat + energy into their livelihoods, and not even tasted a sliver of the wealth Kim has. There are just some situations that are rough, strenuous, and taxing. It’s important to note that those traumas are NOT their fault- and it can definitely play a role in their experiences with abundance.
Not to mention, there is an outstanding barrier of privilege between a majority of the population and Kim, so much so that many of her conflicts can be solved much more easily and efficiently. There’s a reality to success that she’s overlooking, and I’m sure many of you are asking…
What should women ACTUALLY be doing to achieve the big + bold dreams they can’t stop thinking about?
If there’s anything you should stick true to in your journey through life + biz, it’s to do what you LOVE. So many people get caught up in the money, validation, success, and external realities that don’t resonate with the CORE of their purpose. If you harness your focus on the passions + goals that EXCITE you, have you feeling the most aligned version of yourself… everything else will follow!
I implore you to CREATE things that make you feel authentic + harmonized with your life. And what’s even more important is to remain CONSISTENT with that vision.
To me, REAL AF consistency means quality over quantity. Just a little EVERY day goes farther than inconsistent schedules with large spurts of energy. It’s erratic and doesn’t realistically provide sustenance to your vision like routine goal setting.
All of my Sparkle System™ students KNOW I mean it when I say that structure evolves through BOUNDARIES. Boundaries are what nurture our space, keeping it safe + supportive when we need it most. But as Carli said, it’s hard to design those boundaries when you don’t have the awareness for them! BUT, I believe we owe ourselves the radical responsibility of self-awareness and turning our pain into POWER.
When we learn the essence of our boundaries, the energy we are preserving + why we are doing so, it opens up PORTALS to new opportunities for life. And I think a really empowering way to claim those boundaries is to embody them in daily life! You have to HONOR those boundaries, not just “set” them- and that requires nurturing yourself through meaningful forms of care.
If you haven’t learned what daily non-negotiables are and why you should have them… babes, you’re MISSING OUT. When I first began my biz, I struggled with experience real balance until I discovered the power of these bad babies.
As Carli put it, crafting her daily Non-negotiables means putting herself FIRST… and sure as hell not feeling bad about it. So, a little fun homework assignment for YOU this week (and going forward) is:
💫 WHAT is a boundary you want to create for yourself?
AND
💫 HOW are you going to create it?
